The Biofeedback & Alternative Medicine Centers treat a wide variety of disorders using state-of-the-art technology and the latest mind/body healing techniques. Clients
are attached to sophisticated computers that record what's going on in
the body. Using safe, battery-operated,
electronic instruments, biofeedback and neurofeedback techniques measure
and feed back subtle changes in cortical brain waves (EEG), cortical blood
flow (HEG), muscle tension (EMG), peripheral skin temperature/blood flow,
skin conductance (SC), heart rate (HR), blood pulse volume (BPV) and breathing
patterns. With this feedback information
and structured coaching, clients gain control over these disregulated
processes and the disorders or problems that are associated with them.
The all-natural treatment is designed to: Normalize or re-train bodily processes that are functioning improperly. As children and adults gain voluntary control over these processes via biofeedback or neurofeedback, they experience a natural decrease in stress-related medical, psychological and behavioral complaints. These might include headaches, chronic pain, insomnia, anxiety, depression, and digestive disorders. They might also experience specific improvements in the areas of ADD/ADHD, alcoholism/drug addiction and post-traumatic stress. Normalize certain brain chemical imbalances
and associated mood, emotions and behavior that accompany stress-related
trauma and major addictions. Reduce or eliminate certain prescribed medications (e.g., tranquilizers, antidepressants, pain killers, sleeping pills, antihypertensives and synthetic stimulants such as Ritalin, Adderall & Concerta). Concurrent treatment approaches at Biofeedback & Alternative Medicine Centers include: Pain management, including, hypnotic techniques,
EEG neurofeedback, cognitive-behavioral counseling and electronic massage
using the new Infratonic QGM 8.0 "QiGong" device. Personalized relaxation/hypnotic tapes,
including voiced instruction, stereo music, pulsated binaural beats and
advanced subliminal technology. These tapes are made during each biofeedback
training session and are given to clients for home use. The tapes are
specifically designed to assist clients in using their own biological
feedback to gain voluntary control over the bodily processes related to
their problem. Examples
of this might include: muscle tension for pain/spasm; skin temperature
for migraine; blood pulse volume for high blood pressure; skin conductance
and breathing patterns for anxiety/trauma; and EEG brain waves for chronic
pain, major addictions, depression, insomnia, brain injury, neurological
impairment and ADD/ADHD (Attention Deficit Disorder/Attention Deficit
Hyperactivity Disorder). Twilight learning, a technique that allows
clients to record highly personalized treatment tapes in their own voice.
The tapes contain both audible and subliminal hypnotic material directed
to their specific needs. To maximize absorption of the material, office
twilight learning sessions allow these tapes to be presented to clients
according to their dominant EEG brain wave states. Twilight learning treatment
goals include internalizing effective stress and pain management/coping
skills and re-structuring maladaptive thoughts, attitudes, images and
"core" beliefs that aggravate physical symptoms, mood disturbance
and self-defeating behavior patterns. EEG neurofeedback for chronic pain and mood control, anxiety/depression/post-trauma, sleep disturbance, major addictions, traumatic brain injury, neurological impairment and ADD/ADHD in both children and adults. QEEG topographic brain mapping for fine-level
determination of out-of-range
surface EEG values among the 19 major channels/scalp locations. These might include unusually high or unusually
low levels of relative power, relative power ratios, coherence, phase
and asymmetry. QEEG brain mapping
can be a very important tool in the overall design and implementation
of EEG neurofeedback training programs.
QEEG evaluation can result in the identification of problematic
EEG patterns that might otherwise remain unknown.
